What is Unprofessional Development?
These small group Zoom meetings are perfect for anyone who wants to learn in a space that's free from stress and judgement - educators, parents, advocates, and professionals.
Come as you are, and embrace your lively house. Your facilitators have lively houses, too!
One of our favorite school administrators attended a session from her car... on her way to the airport... to fly out of the country! We were happy to have her.
Check out our upcoming sessions below.
Monthly Small Group
This is a monthly event I co-host with Tiffany from Nigh Functioning Autism.
Come connect with other adults who support nonspeaking and minimally speaking young children.
We'll talk about barriers to spoken language and what it means to presume competence.
Then we'll go over simple, affordable strategies you can implement immediately to help your child or student communicate - which will help them feel more confident and in control.
We'll also talk about high-tech AAC devices, and the different ways you can get one.

Monthly Small Group
This is another monthly event I co-host with Tiffany from Nigh Functioning Autism - perfect for educators, parents, and professionals.
The groundbreaking new Proloquo AAC app is packed with unique features that support inclusion in the classroom.
It also gives individual teachers the power to introduce all of their students and families to high-tech AAC without waiting for the bureaucratic wheels of the schools system to grant students a device.
We'll take a deep dive into what makes Proloquo so unique. We'll also discuss specific strategies that classroom teachers can implement to enhance inclusion in the classroom, and build a more inclusive foundation for your entire school.
During our meeting, you'll have the opportunity to connect with other inclusively-minded parents and professionals. You'll be in good company!

A student's IEP (Individualized Education Plan) is the first and most important document educators use in order to support their students.
During this session, we'll talk about the language in an IEP, why that language is important, and how you can change it.
Then we'll go over common IEP goals and accommodations - and how you can suggest changes.
Lastly, we will give you guidance on creating a Parent Input Section, which is one of the most important - yet often most underutilized - parts of your child's IEP.
